I have an array of House stencils for many uses of my work.
This is a photo I took created a image transfer.
I'm taking my time with this instead...

hey that is FANTASTIC!
tell me, where are these paintings going that he needs so many? that blows my mind. I had no idea about you!
Okay, Paula, this guy's wife has a gallery in NYC and she wants 30 large paintings for a show. I'm to let them know when I have them done. If it takes me a week to do a large painting, that means at least six months of work. . . He took all the canvases that I had, along with some of the collages and monoprints. I'm not entirely sure how he will go about selling these, but he manages to do so. I have dealt with him for a year now, and at first I was a bit skeptical, because things like this don't happen to people like me. (He saw my art at the one and only show I had here in town and contacted me) But he hasn't screwed me around yet, so what the hell. . . the paintings certainly aren't doing me any good stacked up in the basement. And, by the way, it is a 50-50 split. Have I made any money yet? Probably not a profit, but it's good to recoup some of the cost, at least.
wow wow wow
thats a great thing to hear
i'm jealous of course
but happy for you.
remind me, where do you live? i'm thinking some little town in the midwest...and this guy or his wife is there and sees your work. THATS A STORY :)
i'm frothing at the mouth wanting to know more about your history and how this has played out. if you are ever bored and want to write more you have a panting reader.
Mary
Is this photo collage done by combining different images or image parts into one digital file?
I really like these collages as well as your painting. I appreciate the fact that you are a photographer and a painter - a rare occurrance (of course, I fit into this category as well!).
Congratulations on your sale! I understand your comment about the value of paintings in storage - not much! Get 'em out there!
Mary, can you tell I'm catching up reading my blogs? Woweeeee, congratulations on that NYC gig! You go, girl! That is fabulous and couldn't happen to a nicer person.
Bigger things to come, I'm betting.
Paula: Yeah, I live in Olathe, KS, which is a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri. The Chamber of Commerce would probably object to the designation of "little town", since Olathe is, after all, the county seat of Johnson County, KS. That's exactly what happened. . . the guy happened upon my art (in an exhibit in the Crossroads District of KCMO), came clear out to my house, chose some art, and has continued to check back with me every few months. Fairy tale time, for sure.
Bob, most of these collages are just from the easy collage button on Picasa. . . some have also been tweaked with Photoshop Elements, but I'm still learning that program. My photography, such that it is, is really the inspiration for my paintings. Thanks for your comments; please visit again.
Martha: I can imagine that you have had other things to do what with the horrible weather in your area and the great art that you are producing. As for the show, I will be excited if and when it actually happens. Yes, I'm still a skeptic. But thanks for the kind words of encouragement.
