. . . painted a favorite

Heavy Equipment III, mixed media on canvas, 20 x 20"
Had another good day in the studio . . . finished this painting, which was inspired by a photograph I took of a metal storage facility on the side of a dirt road in the country on the way to a junkyard for old broken-down semis, trailers, buses, and other very large motor vehicles. I think I have posted the original photograph, and this painting is a close likeness. I think I'm blurring the lines between abstract and realistic painting . . . I painted realistically a picture of an abstract object? My mind boggles . . .

This is great work!!! I particularly love Heavy Equipment I, and I am fascinated by the fact you say the surface is smooth. I certainly doesn't look it. You've created a very effective visual effect. Well done!
