. . .had a sleep-over

with my baby Betsy. . . the very first one ever. . . she was very good (and very entertaining). She had "Betsy time" with Nana and Papa until ll:00 p.m., then woke up at 6:30 a.m. She hit the wall about 11:00 this morning and asked to go home. She was so cute at the Brookside Art Annual (which is apparently what they are calling it now). There was a booth with very colorful primary-colored paintings. She went up to one and said "That's jorgeous." All the people there thought that was just the most clever thing she could have done. She does have quite a vocabulary, even though sometimes she says things not quite right. Most of what Betsy saw at the art fair was other peoples' legs, so we didn't stay long, only long enough to walk through quickly, grab popcorn and a balloon, and drop a whole drink on the ground. Then she wanted me to buy "30" Bearenstain Bear books at Rainy Day Books, so we bought a few. She was happy and thought she had 30. There were three booths at the fair that I could have spent a lot of time in, just studying the techniques, but some things are more important that Nana studying paintings. I wish I could remember whose booths they belonged to. . . will check the website and see what I come up with. The picture above is again from my photo outing on Friday -- the old church bus at the used car lot. Love it, will paint it.

That photograph is jorgeous!!! You must definitely paint it.

It's been so long since we had a little one to drag us around (even the grands are big now.) It makes me smile to hear about your sweet adventures.

Martha, I am so glad that we live close to my kids and my grandkids. We have so much fun with them. Betsy had started to use the word "actually" a lot. . . in fact, in every sentence. Then suddenly she asked me, "Nana, what does actually mean?" I told her "truly" or "really." She never used it again after that. Funny kid.
