. . . hit the road

to visit my mom and mother-in-law, and I'm taking Betsy and Joey with me. Betsy is thrilled at the prospect, and is packing a bag, although we will only be there a few hours. She wants to eat at Wendy's, and she can't imagine there could be a town in which a Wendy's does not exist. I'm not sure Joe knows what's going on, but he's along for the ride. When Joe was here the other day, he kept going to the computer and saying "Han tana." At first I thought he was saying "Auntie Anna" but then I figured out he was saying "Hannah Montana", because that's what Betsy always watches on the computer when she's here. He tries so hard to keep up with his big sister. His mother is dismayed.

I got some new canvas, refreshed the paint supply, prepped a 36 x 48 piece, and started painting the layers. But I'm stuck now. And yes, it's got red in it. Maybe taking this day off from art will help me figure it out. I'm hoping that my brother will be around and he will take me to my favorite metal recycling place in my home town and I'll get some photographs that maybe will inspire me.

I still need choices and address for some folks who wanted a collage, namely Jazz, Jeane and Martin. I think almost everyone got the collage they requested. And I discovered I had lost some of them, too, and that I had not posted a few others.

Have fun in Osage and Burlingame. I really think Joey was saying "Auntie Anna" although he probably doesn't even know I exist! Maybe Sonic could be a new adventure for Betsy. Tell her the waitresses come out wearing roller skates! Fun Fun
Talk to you soon.
Love, Anna

The Joey story brings back memories of a little one wanting to be on the "puter" like his big brother. Oh the memories...Enjoy the day on break from art. I bet it will make you even stronger.

That's strange, I did send you an email a few days ago at:

marycbuek at aol dot com. Is that the right address?

Of course, I wrote down the ones I liked best, then promptly lost the paper after emailing. I'll go through it again.

I'm so excited about the collage! Thank you!
I had my granddaughter one day and I asked her where she would like to go for lunch. She said, "The place with the girl on the cup!"
I had no idea what she was talking about. Finally, after about a half hour of dicussion, I figured out it was Wendy's.
The closest one is 15 miles from here. But by then she had decided she'd rather go to my house, anyway.

Martin and Jazz: As I have let you know, your emails ended up in my spam folder. I didn't know I was supposed to check that thing often.

Anna: Omi would not allow us to eat at Sonic. She also wouldn't allow Betsy to go downtown with lipstick smeared all over her mouth and up to her nose. Wish you were here.

Philip: Your blog is great. Thanks for stopping by.

Leslie: Joey spotted one of his old baby bottles up in the cupboard and decided he wanted to give it a try again. I wish I had a picture of him sitting at the computer with his baby bottle. That just sums it up, doesn't it?

Jeane: I couldn't find an email from you anywhere. I found one that said you were sending one soon. Sorry.

Eve: That's pretty cute. My g-kids can spot a Wendy's or McDonald's from far far away. Schools ought to teach reading based on advertising logos.
