. . . just couldn't help

but create this, my version of "mail art." One of the more mundane tasks that I have to do each day, at least for a few more days, is open and sort the dozens, perhaps hundreds, of envelopes that come bearing tax information. It is an exercise that allows one's mind to wander. So this goofy little collage is made up of bits and pieces of those security envelopes, inside and outside, as well as the contents of my trash bin. Sometimes you just have to make art. If you can call this art.

Mary, I think this is great. I am delighted that something creative can come from such a mind numbing task. That one won't last much longer however. Hope you had fun making it.

I am so impressed how you fit art in all the time.

Paula, that's remarkable. Great minds apparently DO think alike.

Jazz, you are my biggest fan, I think. I think I could post a picture of a pile of dog doo and you would think it was cool. Thanks for always telling me you like the weirdness I sometimes post here.

Amy, all I can say is thanks for being such a great boss. It was interesting to me that you knew right away what I was going to do with that dirty piece of crushed and worn out styrofoam I found on the sidewalk. And you didn't think it was too weird.

Leslie, I just wish I didn't have to sleep, but I've tried that and it didn't work out too well.

of course it's 'art'-- whether you are walking and taking pictures or making a collage-- mail art is an old art form and yours is nicely designed.
