My mind is empty of clever and even not-so-clever titles. You all must know by now that I am not such a deep thinker. Maybe I just have nothing to say.
That Christmas Eve junkyard trip was the best gift. . . it continues to provide inspiration in both photos and paintings. This is one of the paintings, about 10 x 10" on canvas. The more I study it here in the photograph, the more I decide I like it. . . a lot. However, I will concede that there are probably potential purchasers who really don't want a painting of the side of a dumpster on their walls. Too bad.
Today I am going to paint. No distractions.

Ah, recognition!! Like you I also don't have always something to say, sometimes I feel slightly (only slightly) intimidated by what wise words I read on the web. But then: why would we always have to say, and have clever thoughts? Love your paintings, love your courage!

I disagree but then I am an artist who is in love with just such a think as I call accidental art. However it is the other person in my life who would not allow it in through the front door or the back door.
Yet I can see why you would be delighted at this and the other photographs that you have brought back fro your trip.
I have coined a word for such found art that is then recreated by an artist on canvas, I call it Abstract Realism.
I hope you will share with us some of the photographs in the near future.
Thank you for sharing,
Egmont
Regina, I know exactly what you mean. . . and thank you so much for your kind words.
Egmont: Accidental art and abstract realism are perfect descriptions of the kind of art that I love to look at and try to paint. I have often wondered if it is still abstract art when I paint an abstract photo realistically.
