. . . were irrationally nervous

about posting my art on my blog. . . yeah, even after all this time. My inner critic is not just whispering, it's screaming at me. And since most of my blog readers are accomplished and talented artists, I am squeamish about showing my work.

(this one is upside down)

Nevertheless, here are a couple of long but narrow pieces, loosely using the colors of the previous painting. My readers are getting everything I've painted, the good, the bad, the ugly, the ones I know just won't work. The ones that will eventually be painted over, and in the meantime will just take up space. You know that old saying, "even a stopped clock is right twice a day" . . . or "even a blind pig . . ." Well, maybe somewhere in here are one or two pieces that are actually okay.

I'm in the 'un-accomplished, marginally talented' group of your loyal following so my thinking may be less valuable BUT I really like these two pieces. The colors work well for me even though I'm not a 'blue' person - the lines definitely draw me deeper.

And I applaud your ability to overcome the squeamishness (being a squeamer of first order) you have showing your work - its a consistent pleasure to see your work.

I don't know how accomplished I am-more like persistant after all these years.
But exposure to many types of art have been a learning experience .
Your art is truly wonderful. I admire the lines, shapes and colors.......it makes me think and that's a good part of art !Keep posting what your doing, never be afraid to show what you create.

Catherine: Thank you, my friend. I totally disagree with the first sentence of your comment, though.

Nancy: You have got to be kidding me. Your latest artwork blows me away. Thanks so much.

Amyjo: I think persistence is just part of art, don't you? And I agree that looking at all kinds of art is enriching. Thanks for your comment, but I doubt I'll ever overcome the fear of showing what I create.
