. . .shared the results

of some playing in the studio. Here are more of those little pieces that I keep next to the "real" painting I'm working on. Sometimes they simply amaze me.

My weekend was very busy, and I didn't have an opportunity to make any art. I found myself getting cranky. I think I just need a lot of "me" time these days. But as I was scurrying around the countryside on Sunday, I spotted some of that orange plastic fencing that you usually see around an open hole in the ground. It was just there in the road, waiting for me to pick it up. I didn't see an open hole, so I grabbed it. Oh, I have been wanting some of that, just a little bit, to use as a stencil or as a stamp of sorts. Look for those rounded off squares in future paintings. No wonder my kids think I'm insane. I hope when they put me in a home, it will have art and painting facilities. That's all I ask.

I hope they put us in the same home, so we can play with paint together!

These are so rich and exciting. The spiral in the top piece works really well. I really like the depth in the second piece. I am so glad I am not the only one who picks up strange and wonderful things on the side of the road. I once found a purple padded office chair that was just waiting for me to come get it.

That's it, Mary! We need to pool our 'retirement' and establish an 'old artists home' - instead of lining up for medications three times a day, we'll form a queue for fresh canvas, paint and gel medium!

Love your SideBar Paintings!

(wow, look at all the exclamation points...)

It's a great day when you score some ugly orange fence remains! :) Love the paintings. Funny how the ones we work on as "extras" sometimes are better than the "real" ones. When it happens to me I know that it is because I'm putting too much pressure on myself and the "real" stuff suffers.

my kids - and my husband- have gotten use to my goofy collections and the lengths I will go to - to gather my art stuff-- so just join the club and let's hope we all end up in the same home-- cluttered with everything we can use in our paintings!
